What is a license? Almost all software now comes with an End User License Agreement, which defines what rights and permissions you have regarding the use of the software. Understanding the different types of software licenses can help you decide which software to buy and work out how many licenses you need.
Important information about Microsoft OEM software
OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) software versions are not intended for end-users. They are specially licensed software intended for System Builders to pre-install on a complete system and then sell to an end-user.
By accepting the OEM license, you agree that you are a system builder.
The system builder who installs the individual software license and distributes hardware units must provide end-user support on terms at least as favourable as the terms under which the system builder provides end-user support for any fully assembled computer system. The system builder must place its support phone number in a noticeable location in the fully assembled computer system help files or end-user documentation. No support for OEM software is provided by Misco or Microsoft.
