SMART Notebook 10.8 Level 1 Training
What to expect
This session is led by a SMART Training Specialist who works with SMART products every day. By the end of the session, you’ll be comfortable using the SMART Board interactive whiteboard and SMART Notebook collaborative learning software in your classroom.
You’ll receive a SMART Notebook Software Training for SMART Board Users Learner Workbook that includes reference material, step-by-step activities and review exercises. The workbook is used during the session and is an excellent reference resource.
You’ll have time to ask questions and practice your skills under the guidance of the SMART Training Specialist
Who should attend?
- New users of SMART Board interactive whiteboards or SMART Notebook software, and anyone who wants an introduction to these products
- K–12 educators, higher education instructors and corporate trainers
Event contents
- Getting started: Learn about hardware components, how the SMART Board interactive whiteboard works and the basic principles of touch, write and save
- Working with Ink Aware applications: Learn how to write directly into your Microsoft® Windows®, Excel® and PowerPoint® files, and how to use these applications with your SMART products
- Basic design in SMART Notebook software: Add images and interactivity to your SMART Notebook lesson activites. Learn how to navigate the software using tabs, toolbars and menus, and discover how to create properties, change properties and manipulate objects.
- Instructional design for interactive whiteboards: Learn design techniques for delivering lessons on an interacitve whiteboard. Discover the advantages of an interactive whiteboard over traditional and other digital instructional mediums.
- Additional resources: Find out how SMART supports you with a number of resources, including free training materials and an online community

- All participants should have basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows.
- A room that will comfortably hold the participants and a SMART Training Specialist
- A front- or rear-projection SMART Board interactive whiteboard.
- A digital projector or plasma panel if using a SMART Board for Flat-Panel Displays interactive whiteboard
- Access to the Internet (recommended but not required)
SMART Notebook 10.8 Level 2 Training
What to expect
This session is led by a SMART Training Specialist who works with SMART products every day. By the end of the session, you’ll be comfortable creating and organizing lessons using the SMART BoardTM interactive whiteboard and SMART Notebook collaborative learning software.
- You’ll receive a SMART Notebook Software Training for SMART Board Users Level 2 Learner Workbook that includes reference material, step-by-step activities and review exercises. The learner workbook is used during the session and is an excellent reference resource.
- You’ll have time to ask questions and create interactive lesson activities
Who should attend?

- Participants who wish to attend SMART Notebook Level 2 training should have previously attended a SMART Notebook Level 1 training session
