Misco wants to ensure that you receive the best possible prices anywhere. Part of that pricing model now includes cashbacks. Cashbacks help to ensure that Misco maintains great deals on the products our customers want. Some cashbacks are under the control of the manufacturer and not Misco & so we may have limited information regarding the status of claims.
Fundamentally a cashback works in the following way;
Top tips & checklist items:
All products with an active cashback offer online will automatically display the pricing with cashback detail and claim information against the product. Once the offer has expired the detail will automatically be removed from the product information tab and will be filed in the cashback archive within the cashback centre. Most terms state a limited period in which customers have to claim.
With all cashbacks you must read the small print. Some cashbacks limit the number of products you may purchase, while others require an additional purchase or subscription to a service. There may be restrictions in the quantity allowed per customer- i.e. 1 per customer. Other provisions may include the necessity to purchase further products to qualify for a cashback (i.e. Buy 'product X' to receive a cashback on 'product Y'). Ensure you read the small print on the claim form.
Misco provides information on how to obtain the the claim form including terms and conditions on all cashback claims either as a link or downloadable document.
Misco attempts to disclose all such conditions clearly on our website, within the item cashback description to ensure the customer is not misled.
It is useful to retain your receipts/ invoices as you often need to provide proof of purchase. This usually needs to accompany the claim form when claiming the cashback.
A majority of the cashbacks require that you post in a copy of your receipt and the EAN (bar code) from the product box as your proof of purchase. Some problems may arise when you have purchased multiple products on the same receipt.
Misco offers an "invoice copy" by email specifically for your cashback purchase if required. Simply visit our Cashback centre to request yours. All you need is your order number & email and it will be sent to your email address.
The EAN is straightforward, but the one thing to keep in mind is if you purchased a product that you may need to return, most manufactures will not accept the product if the EAN is missing from the box. Therefore, we suggest that you try out the product first and make sure it is what you expected before you cut out the EAN from the box. Make a photocopy of the EAN as well.
Include all other materials that the manufacturer may require and remember to fill out the Cashback claim form completely. Once again make a photocopy of this form. If a manufacturer receives an incomplete cashback claim form they may or may not contact you. If they decide not to contact you then your cashback cheque will be held back. This is where many cashback fulfilment problems arise.
Cashbacks should be sent by recorded delivery or Recorded Signed For™ service to ensure their safe arrival. Recorded delivery offers a guaranteed delivery or compensation. A record is kept at the Post Office of delivery. Royal Mail also offers an online facility called ePOD showing an electronic proof of delivery by signature.
NOTE: When you consider cashback purchases set your expectations to receive the money properly, then add a week or two. If you need the money back right away, stay away from cashbacks. Remember, no cashback will be paid within the DOA period. This period varies and should be detailed in the terms and conditions.
