Business Customers (Non Household)
Distributor Responsibilities
- Products purchased prior to 13th August 2005: As a business user of IT equipment you are legally responsible for the collection, treatment and environmentally-friendly disposal of all Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) UNLESS you are buying new electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) to replace old ones on a like-for-like basis, then the producer is responsible (manufacturer)
- Products purchased after 13th August 2005: the producers are required by the new law to take responsibility for the collection, treatment and environmentally-friendly disposal of any equipment purchased after this date.
- If you are disposing of redundant IT equipment ,not covered by the above (i.e. not being replaced by new equipment), you will be responsible for reporting evidence to show that they have been disposed of in accordance with the new law.
- In all instances Misco will be happy to advice on the best course of action and provide a customized quote for the disposal of any equipment.
