Misco Education Solutions

Misco has been an experienced and proven supplier to the education sector for over 27 years. What makes Misco unique is our combination of product knowledge, procurement expertise and dedication, which includes:

  • We have separate teams for schools and multi-academy trusts (MATs) as well as higher and further education – and each team member is focussed and understands the specific needs of their customers
  • We are on most of the major public sector and education specific frameworks and can provide the right advice and guidance as to how an education customer can easily procure what they require
  • We operate e-portals and e-procurement systems to provide up-to-date product specifications, customer specific pricing and online ordering.

As well as stocking and selling thousands of products specifically suited to education, we also have teams of solution specialists who can offer the following:

  • Design expertise to help our education customers determine their requirements and arrive at the right combination of products, implementation and support services
  • Proof of concepts and product demonstrations can be provided (including loan equipment), to help our customers evaluate the right products before making their purchasing decisions
  • Site surveys (for example, for wireless network solutions)
  • A complete range of implementation and support services are available for all of the products we offer.

As well as providing solutions to existing schools, universities and colleges, Misco has also gained significant experience in helping education establishments with their building projects – for example, new free schools, university laboratories and building extensions of all types. We are used to working with building contractors (and their many sub-contractors), to ensure that a new building has the right infrastructure and furniture to support the latest technologies – including A/V equipment (such as interactive touch screens and video conferencing), local and wireless networks, telephony and managed print solutions. We can take full responsibility for the project management, design and implementation of the technologies required for any new building and ensure a smooth handover to the customer’s existing IT team.

What is a Framework Agreement?

A Framework Agreement is an arrangement recognised under the European Union (EU) public procurement regulations. It allows customers to place orders for a range of goods and / or services under pre-determined terms and conditions.

In essence, Framework Agreements are a set of pre-competed agreements with single or multiple suppliers on the basis of objective and non-discriminatory criteria for the most economically advantageous result against which individual contracts are placed or through which further competition can be held.

Benefits to customers of Framework Agreements

Procuring goods and associated services under Framework Agreements can reduce the time and costs associated with procurement by offering a pre-tendered call off facility. Thus, Framework Agreements provide the following benefits to public sector organisations:

  • EU Compliance
  • Ability to call-off urgent requirements quickly
  • Competitive pricing
  • Choice of goods, services and suppliers
  • Contractual protection based on best practice
  • Ease of ordering
  • Convenience
  • Information and advice
